Making a Difference through Intelligence

As a human-being, you are not just to exist but make an impact of your presence wherever you are. This is real humanism. Humans have highly evolved intellect.

Your presence must felt by everything surrounding you. For this, you must keep on influencing your surroundings by your deeds. Since all others are trying to do the same thing, to keep your identity distinctive, you must do what others are not doing but is needed by them. This means you must be innovative.

Modern societies are mostly composed of conformists – agreeing to all others without convictions and not taking risk of being innovative. In such societies, you can easily stand apart by

To be innovative, you must enter a field which is continuously expanding because such a field only may provide you an opportunity to do something new. The most common field of this type is that of knowledge which easily and universally provides immense opportunities to every one to be innovative and distinctive. This field needs little of external resources and makes use of your intellect only. Another such field is entrepreneurship which provides newer products to humanity, but this field needs capital investment. Here we shall be dealing with the field of knowledge only.

To tap your intellect, you must understand to reach its level because it is not directly exploitable. Human mind works at three levels – information, knowledge and intelligence. To reach the intelligence level, one has to master the two lower levels of information and knowledge.

Information is scattered all around us in a haphazard manner. No body can gather all the available information and make use of it. You need to pick information of your choice and utility from this unorganized heap. For this, you need to make a strategic choice of what information is of utility to you in your chosen sector of thoughts and activities. Organizing the selected information in an order and storing it in the memory and other resources available to you like the books in print and computer memory, etc. is called your knowledge-base. The fort of intelligence is built on this base of knowledge.

No knowledge is complete and will never be. Just find the wholes in the knowledge-base you have. Even some established knowledge may be defective or misleading. Here you have two opportunities – to pierce your intellect into one or some such holes in the knowledge-base, and to have doubts on the existing knowledge. These two means are the foundations of your developing intelligence and make new discoveries.

But what is Intelligence altogether?

Perhaps IT is something that exists prior to the intellect and its constant search for power and control over the never ceasing, always changing, nature of conditional existence.
