Man-Woman Inter-relationship

Man and woman are integral parts of human society. Do they have their exclusive individual significances? To answer this, four analogies come to my mind - hardware and software of a computer system, body and mind of a creature, talent and genius of a person, and art and science of a human endeavor. Let us consider them one by one.

Hardware and Software
Hardware of a computer system are dead matter while software provide life to them to be useful. Conversely, software have not functionality without being put on the hardware. Basic purpose of life of a man is to procreate to contribute to continuation of existence of life in the Universe. A man can not serve this basic purpose of keeping the humanity alive without support from a woman. Conversely, a woman has no basic utility if a man does not make use of her to procreate. So, man-woman are akin to hardware-software of a computer system.

Body and Mind
Body is governed by the mind while the mind has no other function except controlling the body and its activities. So, they have a functional co-relationship. It is often said behind every man of worth, there is always a woman. Thus, women are the driving forces of men, but have no utility without support of men.

Talent and Genius
Inter-relationship of talent and genius has been dealt under responsibilities of an individual. Talent is art of performance while genius is the original creative capability. Thus, genius is the whole while talent is the part of it depending on the circumstances. Similarly, a woman is the whole, while the man is a circumstantial creature - a part of the woman - born out of her womb.

Art and Science
Their inter-relationship of Art and Science is akin to man-woman relationship in the sense that Science is the mother of an art, while an art is the utility of a science.

With all that said and done, man-woman relationship needs their finer matching and compatibility with each other without which no relationship can sustain.

Simplify your Life on Internet

Today, we have a lot of facilities like the Computers on our lap, Internet connectivity, Mobile phones, etc. to augment our efficiency. But many of us feel that in-spite of being busy all the time, results of our performance are negligible. This is an indication to a bitter fact that the facilities have added complexities to our lives. To be a star performer, we need facilities but should not be driven by them but rather drive them to our applications. For example, email is the best way to communicate with others all over the globe and it looks lucrative to start our days with opening of email boxes, which often are found full of messages – both desirable and undesirable. We get involved in them and our precious time in reading messages, replying them or marking spams, etc. The result is that our time is consumed in a redundant activity, leaving little for useful activities. To avoid such things, there is a way.

Mark your possible activities as objective, supportive and redundant, and go for them in this order only with objective activities first and redundant at the last if time permits. This will simplify your life and make objective use of your time and other resources.

I put it like this – we must be objective driven rather than input-driven. Mind it our inputs may be objectives of others and not necessarily yours so segregate them into your objectives and those of others and give priority to the first category. For the other category, pay attention only if you have spare time. To streamline this process, have 2 or 3 mail boxes for yourself and earmark them for different purposes, keeping one of them related to your direct objectives.and others for other less-important communications. If you are able to that, you need to open the objective mailbox daily while others can be kept waiting for weekly or fortnightly openings.

An instance comes to my mind. In olden times when Internet was not at your service, a reputed author used to open his letter box once a month to reply his mails. In this period, many of his mails got outdated and he could ignore them easily. This strategy is similar to what I suggested above. .

Making a Difference through Intelligence

As a human-being, you are not just to exist but make an impact of your presence wherever you are. This is real humanism. Humans have highly evolved intellect.

Your presence must felt by everything surrounding you. For this, you must keep on influencing your surroundings by your deeds. Since all others are trying to do the same thing, to keep your identity distinctive, you must do what others are not doing but is needed by them. This means you must be innovative.

Modern societies are mostly composed of conformists – agreeing to all others without convictions and not taking risk of being innovative. In such societies, you can easily stand apart by

To be innovative, you must enter a field which is continuously expanding because such a field only may provide you an opportunity to do something new. The most common field of this type is that of knowledge which easily and universally provides immense opportunities to every one to be innovative and distinctive. This field needs little of external resources and makes use of your intellect only. Another such field is entrepreneurship which provides newer products to humanity, but this field needs capital investment. Here we shall be dealing with the field of knowledge only.

To tap your intellect, you must understand to reach its level because it is not directly exploitable. Human mind works at three levels – information, knowledge and intelligence. To reach the intelligence level, one has to master the two lower levels of information and knowledge.

Information is scattered all around us in a haphazard manner. No body can gather all the available information and make use of it. You need to pick information of your choice and utility from this unorganized heap. For this, you need to make a strategic choice of what information is of utility to you in your chosen sector of thoughts and activities. Organizing the selected information in an order and storing it in the memory and other resources available to you like the books in print and computer memory, etc. is called your knowledge-base. The fort of intelligence is built on this base of knowledge.

No knowledge is complete and will never be. Just find the wholes in the knowledge-base you have. Even some established knowledge may be defective or misleading. Here you have two opportunities – to pierce your intellect into one or some such holes in the knowledge-base, and to have doubts on the existing knowledge. These two means are the foundations of your developing intelligence and make new discoveries.

Walking is the Best Exercise

Fast and competitive life-styles and availability of many modes of conveyance like the Scooter, Motor-cycle, Cars, etc. are forcing us not walk but sit and reach the destination fast and comfortably. Certainly, it appears to be convenient, comfortable and economical but proves costly and uncomfortable if we look at it from long-term health point of view, just for one reason – it prevents us from walking, which is the best physical exercise that our body needs regularly.

For walking, heels should not be forced on to the ground but they must be made to follow the toes – smoothly touching the ground, to avoid shocking waves rushing from heels to brain in each stepping. Such waves disturb serenity of head needed by the brain.

Walking has 3 important styles – strolling, brisk-walking, toe-walking, and rushing. Each one of these has a distinctive advantage and suits a different purpose.

Strolling

Strolling is a free-time exercise most needed just after every meal, not much – just 100 meters. It involves walking slowly with no tension in the body- both arms hanging and oscillating forward and backward loosely on sides. It stirs and homogenizes our food intake in our abdomen to stimulate and smoothen chemical reactions inside. It should be avoided in scorching Sunlight. As far as possible, strolling should be left to sub-conscious level of mind to keep its conscious level free for thinking something else. For this, strolling is to be taken up on a calm and quiet walk-way, undisturbed by vehicles.

Brisk Walking

Brisk walking is harder than strolling and is not recommended within half an hour of taking meals, else it will interfere with the digestive process in the body. Going to work-place or to market in the cool mornings and evenings, if these are around 1 km away, is the brisk walking time. It stimulates blood circulation and generates heat in the body, so hot Sun must be avoided. It could even be taken up as an early morning exercise. But it is highly recommended that you use the exercise in a productive way – to serve some purpose of life. Exercising for the sake of exercising is no wisdom when we can do so to meet our needs of life.

Toe-walking

It is a special purpose walking exercise that involves every nerve in the body from toes to the head. It must be taking up only inside of a room with free walking space. In this exercise, the brain is kept engaged in watching carefully every touch of ground by the toes, thus stimulating neurons to flow throughout the body. So, it is an exercise not only of the body but also of the conscious mind. It helps in mind-body synchronization. In this exercise, the toes are intentionally and carefully made to touch the ground and support the body weight with no pressure on the heels. Avoid thinking anything else, but only your steps, while toe-walking. It could be taken up for about 15 minutes a day, certainly not within 2 hours of taking a meal.

Happiness by Choice

All of us want to be happy but are not, just because all of us do not know how to be happy. Happiness is something you can make a choice for through the following seven point program. This topic is kept under Religion and Spirituality channel which I beg to differ. I would like the subject to be dealt from scientific and psychological points of view.

1. Only healthy persons are happy, so the first step towards happiness is good health. One must take utmost care of it. It does not mean depending on medicines or visiting your doctor every now and then. Health is born out of food - simple, tasty, local and seasonal. These four qualities of food are to be essentially checked before including something in the diet. Cook the food with a fancy for it, and take it with all the love for it. An Indian philosopher Rajneesh said that enjoy your food by seeing it, then by smelling it, then by tasting it and finally by eating it. With these processes, your metabolism gets not only ready but too eager to digest the food quickly and easily.

2. Contentment is a synonym of good mental health. To be contented, one must know limitations of himself/herself and that of his circumstances. Money alone never makes a person happy. So earn only so much what you can do with pleasure. Compulsions make a person miserable, so do away with all your compulsions by cutting down your needs. Some people consider compulsions necessary for discipline. This is absurd.

3. Discipline is an intrinsic feeling free from all external bindings. This is a must for happiness because this makes one socially useful, for which we all humans are born. This provides additional contentment and enhances self-esteem, without which no one can be happy.

4. Modern thinking is corrupt when it considers competition necessary for progress. Competition take birth when we fail to plan a symbiosis between demands and supplies. A well-planned economy eliminates competition totally and contributes to make the whole society happy. This is true for individuals also. So, plan your life, on long as well as short term basis, individually and socially using your intellect.

5. Being beautiful and to be in touch with beautiful things makes a person happy. It adds to self-confidence, a must for happiness. Beauty is not limited to physical objects but expands much beyond these to characteristics and performances. Use of one’s intellect is a component of beauty, and fortunately everyone has ample intellect. What differs in different persons is stress on using the intellect. We must remember that we are humans because we have been using our intellect. So think, think and think before every step of yours.

6. Be creative. A creation of the self, may be a write-up, an equipment, or even a doll, gives immense pleasures to the Creator.

7. Take responsibility of your actions, both right and wrong. Even if you have committed a mistake, don’t just repent for it or hide it. Accept it quickly and boldly. This will not only make you happy but also reduce your chances of committing mistakes in future.

Thus, we see that all of the above make us happy and all of these are very much within our control. So, why not to choose to be happy.

Ways to Stay in Love

Love has two elements in it - romance and passion, in different ratios in different couples. While romance emanates from a feeling for the other, passion originates from a feeling of insecurity within oneself and results in a hurry for possessing the other. Therefore, passionate love is less stable than the romantic love. So, it is in the interest of both the partners of love that they cultivate more of romance in their relationship. Here are some ways -

Focus on Relationship : Focus your attention on your relationship and make it central to your lives through caring for and sharing with each other. It really needs a hard work initially but once the ball is set in motion, it keep on rolling. Symptom of focus is that they resove their conflicts efficiently and smoothly without blaming each other. For this they must be well-groomed.

Take Up Challenging Activities Together : Discuss the challenges ahead and face them together. This increases not on only self-confidence but also confidence on and fruitfulness of the relationship. Such experiences stimulate the brains to produce more of neuro-chemicals - dopamine and norpinephrine, essential for romanticism.

Get Isolated Occassionally : Continuous closeness is monotonous. For getting relaxed from such monotony, spend some time separately to feel a deeper urge for each other. Through isolation, one fosters own identity also - essential for a firmness of relationship.

Watch Others in Relationships : Experince makes us wiser and learning from other's experiences is wisdom. So, gain experiencial benefits through watching others in loving relationships and compare with own relationship in order to improve upon it.

Focus on Small Favors for Each Other : Big favors are automatic in a loving relationship, what are missed are the small favors for each other. Take care of these small and sweet favors for each other. For example, two may compete who gets up earlier from bed and prepares a hot morning coffee for both to share.

Sex Play : There is no alternative to a full-fledged sex in a relationship but it may not be possible sometimes. Even then don't forget deep-tongued kisses on such busy occassions. Kisses not onlt relax you physically but rejuvenate the two and hence the relationship.

So, don't burn your energies in passion but light up with romance for ever.
