Stress, Sleep and Dreams

Stress and sleeplessness have a close nexus, each promoting the other. Stress may be caused by financial problems, career instability, ill health, or some untimely mis-happening in the family. This causes andraline to flow in the body prompting it for action, just opposite to sleep.

Sleep is needed to revitalize the body through repairing tissues damaged or decayed during active hours of the body. So a good sleep is essential for keeping in good health. Good health provides more resistance to body to tolerate more of stresses of routine life. When the sleep gets disturbed, the body's resistance is diminished and a little bit of stress may pose a big problem to body and may look more intense than what it really is. This in turn disturbs sleep cycles of the person, thus a vicious cycle gets set in motion.

Sleep is needed by body as well as by brain of the person, but need of the body is always more than that of the brain. While a person is sleeping, the brain gets its due rest quicker than the body. During this difference of time, the brain gets active and causes visualization of dreams by the person. The body of a person is more capable to action than the brain of the person. This means that if body loses on rest, some uneasiness may be felt by the person, but if the brain does not get its full quota of rest, a lot of uneasiness is in store for the person. So, a good amount of dreams is a sure indication of the person taking good amount of rest and rejuvenating his/her body and brain.

A third organ of the body adversely affected by stress and sleeplessness is the heart of the person which must keep its rhythm uninterrupted for a good health. Stress and sleeplessness disturb rhythm of the heart either lowering or raising the blood pressure of the person depending upon whether the person's arteries have slackness or tightness for free flow of blood.

Contra-evolution of Mother-Child Relationship

This blog is devoted to evolutionary relationships which are not forced on the people through circumstances. A mother-child relationship is thus not an evolutionary relationship but there also some thing evolves, it may be called counter-evolution of the relationship wherein the mother-child relationship often gets loosened with passage of time.

In animals, mother and child ofyen get isolated after the child becomes self-dependent for getting its feed. They often do not even recognize each other after such an isolation. This indicates that a mother-child relationship is naturally made for upbringing the child to be self-dependent. After that the relationship gets dissolved to the extent that there may evolve a wife-husband relationship between a mother and her child.  .

In human societies, the mother-child relationship continues not for natural needs of it but for  another reson. The reason is socio-intellectual. The mother and the child remember their relationship for the whole of their lives and try to keep the social sanctity thereof. Were the memory of human race not that long-lasting, and there were no social norms of a son establishing a sexual relationship with his mother, they would have gone the animal way.

This, however, does not mean that the mother-child relationship is kept intact for the whole life span. There have been cases when a son has killed his mother. But this is not a normal thing for humanity and so is considered as a criminal act.

After the child gets self-dependent for his feeds, or no more needs the mother's help for this purpose, it is the child which gets independent of the mother, rather than the mother herself. Reason for this seems to be that the child, as he grows up, develops many needs for a happy and comfortable living for which he needs no help from the mother which he needed while young. Conversely, the mother had no selfish ends while bringing up the child and her situation remains unchanged with respect to the child with the passage of time. So mother tends to keep the relationship while the child may ignore it.                 .

Understanding Balance of Mind

Every person is endowed with two essential mental faculties - brain and mind. Mind is the source of desires of different systems of body and is incapable of thinking while the brain keeps past experiences as memory and utilizes this memory to make judgments of current issues. This process is often termed as 'thinking'. Thus, the mind desires and the brain thinks. Satisfying a desire without thinking may prove disastrous to the person. Keeping the mind under control of the brain is 'keeping balance of mind', a sign of good mental health of the person.

When a desire is in over-excited state, the person acts fast to satisfy it without giving an opportunity to the mind to think over propriety of the desire. Most of the crimes are committed under state of over-excitement of a desire like lust for money or sexual pleasure,

A person gets mentally charged by some unexpected incidence involving his/her interests but may not react instantly. In the time gap, the brain thinks on the matter and cools down the excitement of the mind. In some cases, the mental charge may be high enough to demand an instant reaction and person's mind and body go out of control of his.her brain.

Persons who remain busy with intellectual exercises of thinking, they develop a habit of keeping mind always in active mode which keeps a tab on desires aroused in his/her mind. Such persons may look like acting instantly but their minds seldom go out of control of their brains. Such persons never commit a crime.

Here it is essential to differentiate between mind and brain of a person, both residing in his/her body. The body has many organic systems such as digestive system, sexuality, blood flow, breathing etc. Every such a system has its own mind embedded in it which monitors and regulates the system functions. A combination of all these system-minds of the person is the mind of the person. These system-minds have no thinking capability which is owned by the person's brain only. These minds are the sources of desires of the person.

What makes a Leader

Ocean of humanity is spectrum of varied shades and hues of attributes attained by individuals forming the ocean. This gives rise to natural leadership of some in a society making others as followers of these distinguished natural leaders, also known as born leaders of the society.

The first and foremost sign of a natural leadership is that the leader never works to acquire it but the people force it by recognizing his/her leadership attributes. Very demonstrative examples of ancient times are those of Ram and Krishna of India. The former never boasted of his strengths and attributes while the latter put all resources - moral and immoral, under him to force his leadership on the people. In-spite of this, Ram has been more popular than Krishna. Ram is still remembered for his noble deeds while Krishna is known for his fraudulent activities out of fear only.

I have shortlisted the attributes which make a person natural leader of his/her society -

Courage or Fearlessness
Life is full of adversities or it is considered so by most of the people. Facing an adversity and overcoming it needs courage which everybody does not have. So, people always need somebody to help them in their adverse situations and like to depend on him/her marking him/her as their leader, crowned or uncrowned.

Courage has a possibility of being misused for personal gains or for oppressing others. This may force others to accept leadership of the courageous but under duress only. This leadership gets forgotten as soon as the situation gets altered. This makes another attribute essential for natural leadership.

Fairness
Fairness has two faces like those of a coin - Honesty of the self, and Unbiased judgment about others. Honesty demands that the person is free from vices like greed for wealth and authority. Since leadership involves dealing with others, judging the people on merit becomes a prerequisite for the leader. This requires a high caliber of intellect in the person to understand others' merits without any bias, in opinion as well in actions.

Unexpected Goodness
Goodness of personality includes goodness of character and is always desirable. But what impresses the people is an unexpected and unimaginable goodness of the person. This is not an expected quality because nobody can expect such a goodness, but is appreciated by one and all. Here the underlying philosophy is that if a person is what is expected of him/her, he/she is not an exceptional person and gives no new standard of goodness to the society as a leader. A person with unexpected goodness remains an indisputable leader of the society. This puts a new burden on the leader of ever behaving in a way better than what is usually expected of him/her. This keep on raising expectations of the society leading it to ever-higher levels of morality. And this what a true leadership means.

Going beyond expectations of people requires the person to be a great visionary, possible through his/her exposure wider and broader than that of other members of the society. This is achieved through studies, research and a nature of experimentalist of the leader. He/she remains always open to what is possible rather than just what is foreseen. This is just like going beyond the visible horizon, and this what real development of humanity means.

Awareness of Health is Essential

Life is cumbersome for all of us and we remain always engrossed in solving problems of our respective lives - ranging from health to livelihood, from social harmony to our being discontent with our circumstances. Therefore, it becomes necessary to remain closely tied to our objectives. Its first and the foremost requirement is that we keep ourselves in good health individually.

Health, although is the most important ingredient of success in achieving life's objectives, it is often ignored until an individual falls sick and becomes incapable of keep on working for the objectives. This jeopardizes our plans and disrupts our family and social lives. Therefore, paying attention to health on a regular basis becomes imperative for all of us.

Medical science, in service of health, is a vast ocean of knowledge which no individual can master. Moreover, it is always beneficial to visit a doctor for a brief hello, than visiting him/her for a medical prescription. But every individual can not afford it unless it is urgently required in a condition of sickness.

The solution lies in remaining aware of healthy living arts and sciences, through devoting some time daily to such good reads available offline as well as online. Some online resources, available free to all, are quite comprehensive providing guidelines not only on healthy living but also on treatments for specific diseases through articles written by medical specialists of respective fields.

Modern medicine has reached a very high level but simultaneously medical complications have also become difficult to understand. This requires that we remain aware not only of modern medicine but also of non-conventional medical practices prevalent in many ancient civilizations to the present day. Some online resources include such services also to keep you fit with your busy lives.

Inter-Community Relationships

All over the world, societies are divided on basis of religious leanings of individuals. But individuals most often lean towards a religion followed by their families because of the family's environment on the individual during childhood. So, as a general rule, a person gets a religious following through his/her birth, and feels not free from such a bondage. This keeps religions and their practices out of scrutiny by the followers. This being tantamount to brain-washing of the children by the parents, so is shameful for the humanity. In practice, there remains no freedom of faith in a religion.

Religious leanings make communities within communities, so religions divide the society on communal lines and inter-community relationships are interrelationships of grouped followers of different religions. Stricter a religion, more cohesive is the community, and more distant are the communities in social relationships.

Heterogeneity of religions in a society adds fuel to fire of communalism, particularly when different communities match in their resources. Even a community in minority on a piece of land may confront a majority community if the community is more cohesive than the majority community based on stricter principles of religion.

There are communities which are traditionally militant against their sober counter-parts. This militancy is derived from the origin of the religion. When a community shows militancy again and again to sober communities, the others also react in militant terms. This scars inter-community relationships.

History of different communities determine militancy or sobriety of communities. It is often found that militant communities are most of the time at war with other communities and so have less possibility of inter-community harmony. On the face, governments and social organizations preach communal harmony, irrespective of their past experiences with militancy of certain communities. This is absolute hypocrisy.

Communal harmony, as such, can not be achieved with diverging religious followings without a binding force. This binding force could be Nationalism, and for this total freedom to citizens is paralyzing. Religious leanings must be limited to personal lives of people and their public display must be forbidden if goal of communal harmony in a diverging society is to be achieved. Another way of communal harmony is through education, which silently and effectively extinguishes religious feelings.

India is a peculiar example of communal divide because of its vastness and arrival of various communities to this land from historical times.
